Kingscliff sits in New South Wales, 13 km south of Tweed Heads, and Brisbane Airport is in Queensland. The route
The drive leaves the coast at Kingscliff, picks up the Pacific Motorway and stays on it for almost the whole trip. Tweed Coast Road is the connection between the town and the M1, and it meets the motorway at the roundabout at Chinderah rather than at a free flowing interchange, which is the one place on the way out where a driver has to allow a little patience at a busy hour. Southbound that same motorway runs down through the twin 134 metre bores of the Cudgen Road Tunnel near Stotts Creek, which opened on 4 August 2002; northbound, your direction, the road climbs away from the Tweed valley and crosses into Queensland.
Tweed Shire Council is four laning 6.1 km of Tweed Coast Road, from Morton Street at Chinderah to Grand Parade at Casuarina, including an upgrade of that M1 roundabout and duplication of the Cudgen Creek Bridge. Priority sections 5 and 6 were scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026 and to take about 18 months. Tweed Coast Road is the access road for Kingscliff, Cudgen, Casuarina, Cabarita, Bogangar, Hastings Point and Pottsville, so it is the road everyone on this coast uses. We watch it and we build the first few kilometres of the trip around whatever is actually happening on the day, which is a large part of what you are paying a local operator for.
Why a booked private car suits this trip
There is no train. The last XPT left Murwillumbah on 15 May 2004, ending 110 years of rail transport in the region, and two stretches of the old corridor are now the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek, and Lismore to Casino. The line is a cycling path now, not a way to an airport. Local public transport is Surfside Buslines route 601, described by Transport for NSW as Kings Forest to Tweed Heads via Tweed Valley Hospital: a genuine and useful local bus, and not a service to a Brisbane terminal.
That leaves driving yourself and paying to park for the length of your trip, or booking a car. A booked car means a known price before you leave, a named driver, and luggage that fits. Our cars are private and never shared, so there is no loop around other addresses collecting strangers on the way.

Tweed Valley Hospital at 771 Cudgen Road, open to patients since May 2024, and the hospital that replaced the old one in Powell Street, Tweed Heads, is a regular pickup too, and a NSW to Queensland airport run from there is within our licence.
Two things change Marine Parade. Kingscliff Markets run in Jack Bayliss Park on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, 8:00am to 1:00pm. And the Kingscliff Triathlon, based at Cudgen Surf Life Saving Club at 61 Marine Parade, brings changed traffic conditions from 6:00AM until the last competitor finishes, the organisers list Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026, then Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February 2027. On those mornings tell us at booking and we will agree a meeting point that works, and set the pickup time to suit.
The last stretch into town is local road either way, and we plan for it rather than hoping. It is a flat, low town, five metres above sea level, built around the Cudgen Creek entrance, whose two training walls keep the estuary permanently open to the sea, and the central foreshore has been rebuilt under a $21.8 million Tweed Shire Council project that put in a permanent rock wall protecting the surf club, the holiday park, the bowls club and the roads behind them.
Families and the free fitted child seats
