Airport Transfers With Child Seats Fitted Free
Fitted before we arrive, at no charge, on every transfer
Most operators treat a child seat as an extra. Some charge for it, some decline to fit it, and rideshare drivers generally do not carry one at all. We carry the full range, fit it before the driver leaves to collect you, and never put it on the bill.
| Seat | Suits | Charge |
|---|---|---|
| Rear facing capsule | Birth to about 6 months | Free |
| Convertible rear facing | About 6 months to 1 year | Free |
| Forward facing harness | About 1 to 4 years | Free |
| Booster | About 4 to 7 years | Free |
Every seat is AS/NZS 1754 approved, the joint Australian and New Zealand standard. A seat bought overseas does not meet it and cannot legally be used here.
Why free, when we do not have to supply one at all
Queensland exempts personalised transport, taxi, limousine and ride booking, from the child restraint rules entirely. A child under one may legally be held on a lap; a child under seven may legally use a seatbelt. We could do that and be within the law.
We do not, because the exemption describes what is allowed rather than what protects a child in a crash. And the moment a trip crosses into New South Wales in a booked hire vehicle the exemption disappears altogether. Carrying the seats and fitting them free is the only answer that works on both sides of the border. The detail, with sources, is on child seat rules in Queensland and NSW.
How it works when you book
1. Tell us the children's ages and rough weights in the booking notes.
2. We allocate a vehicle with enough anchor points and enough boot space for the pram.
3. The driver fits and checks the seats before leaving to collect you.
4. On an airport pickup the driver meets you inside arrivals with a name board, so you are not hunting for a car with a toddler and a trolley.
There is no cap. Four children means four seats.
Prams, bags and the rest of it
A pram is not an extra either. Tell us whether it is a compact fold or a double and we allocate the boot space. The seven seat Mercedes V Class and Executive Vito Tourer take a family of five or six with a pram and a week of luggage; the Lexus sedan carries up to three passengers and is usually the right car for one child and two adults.
We do not run a bus or a shared shuttle. Your booking is a private car with your family in it.
Where this matters most
- Brisbane Airport to the Gold Coast, around 70 to 80 minutes, the run where a long haul arrival with small children is hardest.
- Gold Coast to Byron Bay, the border crossing where the rules change mid trip.
- Theme park transfers, seats out, seats back in, same car at the end of the day.
- Family airport transfers, the full family service.
Questions
Q: Do you really not charge?
A: No charge, ever, for any number of seats, in any vehicle.
Q: How do I know the seat is fitted properly?
A: Your driver fits it before leaving and checks it with you at the door. If you would rather fit it yourself, say so and the anchor point is left free.
Q: Can you take our own capsule?
A: Yes. Tell us at booking so the right vehicle is allocated.
Q: What if our flight is delayed?
A: We track it. International arrivals get 60 minutes of free waiting and domestic 45, counted from when the aircraft lands.
Q: Is there a seat for a newborn?
A: A rear facing capsule. See baby capsule transfers.
